Taste Engine

Overview

Taste Engine is a config-driven taste profiler. You pick the things you love and it returns an AI-written profile of your taste, a “taste radar”, and recommendations you opt into. It launches Comedy-first, with other sections (music, TV, film, books, podcasts) gated behind a feature flag.

The idea

The pitch is agency: learn to describe your own taste and discover by choice, rather than leaning on opaque big-tech algorithms. It's closer in spirit to Last.fm or Pandora than to a pushy feed.

How it's built

Vanilla JS, no build step. Each instance is driven by a Markdown config (comedy, music, tv, film, books, podcasts). A small Node proxy fronts the Anthropic Messages API and image lookups (Wikipedia / Wikidata / TMDB / iTunes). Deployed on Vercel as static files plus guarded serverless functions.

TODO (Milly): add your role / what you want to highlight, and a line on outcomes if you'd like.
