Make Me A QR Code

Overview

A small client-side tool: paste a link, get a QR code, download as PNG or SVG. No account, no server round-trip — the code encodes your link directly.

The idea

Most free QR generators point the code at their own server and redirect from there — stop paying them and the code breaks. This one encodes the destination link directly into the QR code, so it keeps working for as long as the link does, even if the site disappears.

How it's built

Vanilla JS + Vite, using the qrcode library to generate codes client-side. Tested with Vitest, using jsqr/pngjs to decode and verify generated codes round-trip correctly. Deployed on Vercel with @vercel/analytics for anonymous page-view counts only — no cookies, no accounts, and it never sees the encoded links.
